OMG.. Things have been going so fast, they are practically spinning.
Weight Loss seemed to hit the floor of my priority list the past month or so. And it feels TERRIBLE! I was working out, eating right, doing everything I believed to be correct and healthy, then I hit a wall. Well, a few walls that is…
I was trying out a new workout vid and I REALLY hurt myself. I could barely walk for I want to say 3 or 4 days, and it was horrible! I know what everyone says, THAT MEANS YOU DID IT RIGHT! Get off your ass and do it again! But it really sucked. I am a Mom so I get to run around chasing my almost 2 year old around, and I really just hated life those 4 days.
Also, I watched the documentary FAT HEAD. It really really really confused me. Basically, everything I know is wrong? And wheat is the enemy? I need more Bacon? It made me feel like all of the hard work and all of the discipline I had been fighting for was all wrong, and for nothing.
In short.. It sucked.
A few good things did come from the last month though. I did bring my website Momsbasement.org back from the dead and restaff it back up with 13 amazing writers. That has been nothing short of hectic. Also, my business seems to be booming when ever I give it the attention it deserves.
But this is all just excuses.
My friend Anetha gave me the Turbo Fire Cd’s about a month ago, and they haven’t even gotten to see screen time. I plan on getting that going asap. I need to just get back into the swing of things.. because despite what I learned from that movie.. What I was doing was working for me.
So, with that being said.. Here I am, pledging to mind my food intake, get off my ass, turn on the workout dvds, add more mud to my shoes, do more than just soak in my pool, and show my treadclimber what it’s like to be more than a clothes rack.
I’m back. I may not be perfect, but I am going to try to work to be the best that I can. I hope you find inspiration in my words, and I’ll see you at the finish line. :)

SO FLIPPIN CONFUSED!!!
So, last night I watched Fat Head. I tried to get my boyfriend to watch it with me, but he worked a 13hr day and he couldn’t finish it. ( The last half is the half I REALLY wanted him to see )
Ne ways— It’s basically saying what we have been told is completely wrong. Wheat is bad for you. Carbs are terrible. Eating low fat causes us to BE fat.
It’s pretty much the opposite of what we have been taught. I used to look at the low carb diets like they were just a load of shit. I even worked at a low-carb cafe and had no idea what the big deal was.
BUT— This low carb/high fat lifestyle is actually starting to make more sense the more I read about it. It feels really wrong to think eating bacon is better for you than whole wheat bread.
I might do a sample 30 day low carb/high fat diet, to see how my body responds to it. It’s basically a primal type diet.
I STRONGLY suggest you guys watch the movie FAT HEAD. It streams on Netflix, and I even heard you could see it on Hulu. It’s also on Itunes.
The movie is basically a “follow up” to the movie Super Size Me. He loses about 12 lbs from eating fast food for a month, and it’s not by eating low fat chicken salads and sandwiches. The 2nd half of the movie focuses on the science. How your body reacts to certains foods, such as grains, fats, oils, sugars. It really gets the gears turning.

What a waste!
Just made a salad that had:
- Baby Spinach leaves
- crab chunks
- red onion
- black olives
- cucumbers
- unsalted sunflower seeds
- carrots
- black pepper
- parmy cheese
- supreme salad mix
- 1/2 serving of lite caesar dressing
I ate less than half and was not hungry anymore. It took me longer to make it than it did for me to eat what I did. What a waste! LOL
80 Day Weight Loss Challenge Days 23-35
23. How much water do you usually drink in a day?
-I usually drink 2 big water bottles in a day. I really need to work on drinking more!
24. Have you ever had an eating disorder?
- The only thing I do is obsessively over eat. Or eat junk. Nothing to the extent of a disorder.
25. Today you will try a new smoothie. Find a new healthy recipe online and mix & match fruits and veggies and enjoy! But it must be totally new and adventurous!
- I absolutely hate smoothies. I think its because I am super lactose intolerant, so they make me incredibly sick since they contain yogurt. BUT.. I did try this smoothing thing that came in the frozen section, and you blend it all up. But I can’t say I liked it.
26. Do your friends know about you wanting to lose weight? Do they support you?
- Yes! The ones that I know here in town are actually doing the weightloss and healthy lifestyle changes with me. We all support eachother.
27. Does your family support you in your weight loss?
- I called my parents and told them I want to lose weight, and that I am working to better my self. I told my dad I need to lose 80lbs all together and he gave me a look of disbelief and said ” Thats a whole PERSON!” I think they think I will quit in a week like I always do.. but I’m in it to win it!
28. What is your favorite type of snack?
-Healthy snack? I like wheat thins with laughing cow cheese. Ooo Or HOT salsa and tortilla chips!
-bad snack? I LOVE hot cheetos, or Hot chips … MmMm

29. Write your current weight. Have you lost anything in the past week? If not, what are your plans for this week?
-Since I skipped some days, I didnt weigh myself. BUT.. thanks to my kitchen appliances being broken for a while, I know that I want to work on eating better again.
30. Are you a vegan or a vegetarian?
-Nope!
31. What are your favorite workout clothes you own?
-I have a pair of black pants that say TOUCH DOWN! on the butt, and they have a little helmet on the front. For a shirt, I wear a sports bra and this hot pink leopard print yoga shirt.
32. Try a new fruit today. Learn how to cut/eat it and enjoy! How was it?
- I finally learned how to cut a pineapple!
33. Are you on a diet or are you making this a lifestyle?
-This is a lifestyle.
34. Do you take your meals from home to work? If so, what do you usually prepare?
-I work from home :)

- No
Holy crud.
In semi-short.. My house had a rodent problem. I just moved to Texas about 5 months ago, and we live in this lovely 1950’s duplex house..thing. Anyways.. We have been seeing rodents run around, and we caught about 6 of them. They were a TERROR!
Well, one of the rats chewed through a cable in the kitchen, which lead to me having no power in the kitchen. So, that means no fridge, stove or microwave. Which also means eating out and not eating so great.
Soooo.. I blame my two new lbs on the rats.
But.. I got a kitty for Valentines day!! :) Hopefully it will help with the rodents!
My fridge is stocked full of HEALTHY foods,and I am ready to get this weightloss movin!!
